In a stern directive, Additional IG Karachi has ordered police officers and personnel to remove any inappropriate content from social media within seven days, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Friday.

The order includes prohibiting the use of police headquarters, police vehicles, and other official resources for social media purposes without prior approval.

A letter from the Additional IG has been sent to all DIGs and relevant officers, warning that failure to comply may result in suspension or dismissal. The directive aims to prevent conduct that could damage the professional reputation of the force.

All future social media content will be managed by designated media teams from the offices of the concerned DIGs, SSPs, and Unit Heads. Only official accounts will be allowed to share police-related content.
