The Meteorological Department has announced the arrival of westerly winds in the upper regions of Pakistan starting from September 26, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Friday.
The department predicts thunderstorms and rainfall across upper and central areas between September 26 and October 1.
Regions including Chitral, Swat, Kohistan, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Peshawar, and Mardan are expected to experience rain. Additionally, rain is forecasted for Rawalpindi, Murree, Gujranwala, and surrounding areas from September 27.
The department warns of potential landslides in hilly areas and flooding in rivers due to the expected rains. However, Balochistan and parts of Sindh will experience hot and dry weather during this period.
