A traffic warden has got a driver booked on bribery charges, a handout said on Wednesday.
An inspector, Fayyaz, flagged down a vehicle at a Gajju Matta post established as part of protective measures to stem the spread of deadly coronavirus, Lahore police spokesperson Arif Ali Rana said.
The spokesperson added that the driver, identified as Jamil, handed a note of Rs1,000 to the warden when the lawman asked for showing driving licence and other documents mandatory under the lockdown laws. The warden got a case registered with local police that put the accused behind bars.
City Traffic Officer Syed Hammad praised his team mate for doing duty with determination. He made an appeal to people for abiding by laws and cooperating with the cops for curbing such crimes.
