Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry on Wednesday blasted PML-N senior leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi for his insistence on summoning a National Assembly session, terming the stance as of an ignorant.
In a tweet, Fawad said a religious leader from Mansehra had earlier issued a similar statement but later passed away.
Commenting on Abbasi’s assertion that he could guarantee that no one would be infected by the coronavirus, the minister questioned whether he was from the corona family, which won’t infect anyone on his assurance.
The remarks came as the former prime minister, in an interview to a private TV channel, had said that the government should lift the lockdown imposed on the Parliament, while also giving a guarantee about the virus not infecting anyone.

Abbasi said he wasn’t in favour of a virtual National Assembly session and the government was ending the lockdown everywhere except for the Parliament.
It is the Parliament which should offer solutions to the problems faced by the country, as the non-elected people could not do so, he maintained.
