The 9th death anniversary of comedy legend and actor Moin Akhtar was observed on Wednesday.
Born in Karachi in 1950, Moin Akhtar stepped into showbiz in the 60s and ruled many fields of performing arts with his spontaneity and wit.
The actor rose to fame with his performance in the PTV classic Rozi. The adaptation of Hollywood flick Tootsie earned him a massive fan following at home as well as across the border.

The talented actor also produced a number of critically and commercially successful hits including Studio 2½, Studio Poney Teen, Half Plate and Loose Talk.
His theatre performances alongside famous comedian Umar Sharif in stage dramas like Buddha Ghar Pe Hai was well received among the audience.
He was awarded Pride of Performance and Sitara-e-Imtiaz by the Government of Pakistan. Moin Akhtar died on April 22, 2011, at the age of 61. He was survived by his wife, two daughters and three sons.
