The deadly coronavirus took the life of Pride of Pakistan wrestler Haji Muhammad Afzal in New York, United States. He was 85, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
He will be buried in the USA. He was shifted to the US one month ago.
The all-time famous wrestler, Muhammad Afzal, was born on 7 April, 1935.
President Ayub Khan had given him the title of ‘Sher-e-Pakistan’ in 1960. He left his three sons in the US and one in Lahore to mourn his death.
He competed in the 1964 Summer Olympics in Tokyo but became unfit during the semifinal match of wrestling. He taught wrestling to many famous wrestlers.
