The exchange of hot words between the two Supreme Court (SC) judges on Thursday during the hearing of review petition filed by one of their colleagues, Justice Qazi Faez Isa, against the presidential reference led to a brief suspension in the court proceedings, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Justice Maqbool Ahmed Baqir and Justice Munib Akhtar reportedly had an argumentation with each other which left the former so furious that he threw the pen he was holding in his hand on the desk and left the courtroom.

When Justice Maqbool Ahmed Baqir remarked that he had repeatedly said that please finish hearing of the case as early as possible, Justice Muneeb Akhtar cut him short and asked the additional attorney general to continue his arguments.

This made Justice Baqir extremely annoyed who said it aloud that there was no respect for seniors in the court.

And when Justice Sajjad Ali Shah asked Justice Baqir as to why he was stopping the additional attorney general from going ahead with his arguments when two hours were still left before the court timings came to a close, Justice Baqir lost his temper, threw the pen on the desk and left the courtroom.

When the lawyer representing the government suggested taking 10-minute break, Justice Baqir inquired as to what good this would do.

Justice Umar Ata Bandial kept asking the judges to cool down and later the court proceedings were adjourned for 10 minutes.

After the break, the court adjourned the hearing of the case to Friday
