Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday chaired National Security Committee (NSC) meeting at PM Office, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The National Security Committee huddle started at PM Office. All three services chiefs of armed forces were in attendance.
According to sources, important decisions regarding national defence and security are expected to be taken in the conclave.
On Tuesday, Chief of the Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa called on newly elected Prime Minister Mian Shehbaz Sharif.
The army chief gave a detailed briefing to Prime Minister Shehbaz on the national security issues.
The one-on-one meeting between PM Shehbaz Sharif and COAS Bajwa was held at PM Office.
This was the first-ever meeting between PM Shehbaz and Army Chief Bajwa after change in the government at the Centre.
