Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif congratulated the newly-elected members of the national and provincial assemblies in the by-elections.

The victory of the PML-N candidates is a manifestation of the people's confidence, said the premier.

He added: “We sincerely thank the people for reposing trust in PML-N. They showed they would not be left any stone unturned to fix their problems. We try our best to come up to the public expectations.

“Along with the visible signs of economic improvement, the change in public opinion is also becoming noticeable. With economic improvement and public relief, public opinion will change in future too.

He continued: “The non-political behaviour of the opposition after February 8 has also left its supporters and the people confused and disappointed.

“It is a democratic attitude to adopt the path of political cooperation instead of blame game

“Flaws and objections in the electoral process can be removed only through cooperation and political dialogue.”
