Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz on Monday congratulated the PML-N candidates on winning their seats in the by-elections held for 21 National and provincial assemblies’ seats on Sunday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
In her message, she also praised the masses for exercising their right to vote in what she called ‘fair, free and transparent’ elections.
She was of the view that the success of the PML-N candidates in yesterday’s by-polls was a manifestation of the people’s trust in the party. “People have proved that they are fully aware of the right use of their votes,” the chief minister opined.
She claimed that the people had now realized that the former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s leadership was necessary if they were to prosper. “Building the nation and serving the masses is only the PML-N’s trademark.”
Reiterating her resolve to make Punjab a developed and a prosperous province, Maryam said that the development would gather pace with each passing day. “The PML-N is a true representative of the people of Punjab,” the CM said.
She also appreciated the district administrations, the police and concerned departments for ensuring peaceful elections.
