Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) President Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry reaffirmed his commitment to addressing the concerns of Jammu and Kashmir refugees residing in Pakistan during a detailed meeting with AJK Transport Minister Javed Butt at the Aiwan-e-Sadr, Kashmir House in Islamabad.
During the meeting, Minister Javed Butt provided a comprehensive briefing on the challenges faced by refugees from occupied Jammu and Kashmir who have settled in various parts of Pakistan.
In response, President Chaudhry emphasized that these refugees are a living symbol of the ongoing struggle in occupied Kashmir and assured that their welfare remains a top priority for the AJK government.
Recalling his tenure as Prime Minister of AJK, Barrister Sultan Mahmood said he had specifically allocated development funds in the Azad Kashmir budget to support the refugee communities. “It is our national and moral duty to look after the refugees from occupied Kashmir,” he stated.
He further pledged that no stone would be left unturned in future efforts to resolve the issues faced by these displaced communities. The meeting also included a discussion on other matters of mutual interest concerning AJK’s governance and development.
