Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz presided over a special meeting regarding mines and minerals reserves in Lahore, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
Addressing the participants, Maryam Nawaz sought comprehensive plan regarding discovery of gold mines in the province.
She also directed to finalize a simple plan for local and foreign investors for investment in mines and minerals sector.
Maryam Nawaz directed to enhance surveillance of minerals in the province. The Chief Minister was informed that pink salt will be exported as value-added product instead of raw shape.
During the briefing it was informed that special economic zones (SEZs) will be established for conversion of raw salt into value-added product.
The participants reviewed proposal to grant ten-year tax exemption to special economic zone (SEZ) established in Quaidabad, Punjab.
The basic infrastructure will be provided to Quaidabad Special Economic Zone. It was observed that 261 million ton iron ore reserves are available in Chiniot.
The participants of the meeting was informed that about 33,000 gold can be obtained through Pulsar Gold Project.
Environment Protection Agency already granted approval to Pulsar Gold Project.
