The Secretary Election Commission of Pakistan Omar Hamid Khan on Monday expressed his satisfaction regarding the preparations for the upcoming general elections, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.
He was chairing a meeting convened to review the arrangements for holding the general elections of the country by the election regulator.
The meeting was attended by ECP Special Secretary, DG Law, Provincial Election Commissioners, and other senior officers.
In the meeting, the Special Secretary and the Provincial Election Commissioners briefed the Secretary Election Commission on the arrangements made so far regarding the conduct of the election.
Secretary Election Commission expressed satisfaction with the arrangements.
He ordered the Provincial Election Commissioners and the Additional Director General to ensure that the maps and other data required for the constituencies have been received from the provincial governments and the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics on time.
He directed the officials of all the wings of the Election Commission and the Provincial Election Commissioners to ensure the immediate completion of all arrangements related to the conduct of the election.
He asked relevant institutions to ensure the availability of necessary election materials on time.
Secretary Election Commission Omar warned that no negligence will be tolerated in this regard.
He said that a high-level oversight committee has been established under the chairmanship of the Special Secretary Election Commission that will ensure the timely and satisfactory completion of all the above matters.
