The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has issued a directive advising political parties to submit their financial statements for the fiscal year 2023-24 by August 29, 2024.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, the ECP said in the statement that the submission of these accounts is required under Section 210 of the Elections Act, 2017.
The financial statements must be audited by a chartered accountant and signed by the party leader. They are to be submitted on Form D, which is available for free at the ECP offices.
The form must not contain any overwriting, and an auditor's certificate is mandatory. Parties are also required to provide copies of every bank statement along with a bank reconciliation statement.
