Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan has reached Islamabad to give a briefing to Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tekhreek-i-Insaf’s defeat in the recently concluded first phase of local government elections in the province, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
Prime Minister Khan summoned KP CM Mahmood to elaborate reasons behind the party’s rout in the province where it has been in power for almost 7 years.
The CM will present the premier a report in which those parliamentarians and senior PTI leaders would be pinpointed who did not support the party’s candidates for the LG polls.
The prime minister will also be apprised of the strategy of awarding tickets to the candidates.
Prime Minister Khan will give guidelines regarding the next round of LG polls in the province.
On the other hand, the Prime Minister House on Wednesday postponed a meeting of the PTI leaders and spokespersons called to discuss the reasons behind the KP LG polls defeat.
The meeting was scheduled to be held at 12:20pm today under the chair of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
According to sources, the meeting was postponed due to some other engagements of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
