A consumer court in Lahore has issued a decree against a tour operator ordering the company to return the petitioner Rs44,000 in damages for providing faulty service during their trip, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.
According to details, a couple travelled with Allama Iqbal Town's Tour and Travel Services to visit Abbottabad and surrounding places after deciding on a tourism package. However, they were utterly disappointed by the subpar services provided to them during the trip.
The quality of both the food and accommodation was substandard and when the couple voiced their objections, the driver infuriated and sped away leaving them behind in Kamoke forest. They also complained that their tour was reduced to just ‘window tourism’ as on many occasions they were not allowed to come out of the vehicle to have a good look at the sites.
Following that, the couple hired a taxi for Rs6,000 to reach home.
Chaudhary Umair of Wapda Town filed a claim of damages of Rs360,000 in the court.
After hearing the issue, judge Adnan Mushtaq ordered that a sum of Rs44,000 be returned to the couple immediately.
