5 labourers killed in terror attack on under-construction police station in South Waziristan

Unidentified terrorists attacked an under-construction police station in South Waziristan District late Thursday night and shot dead five labourers, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.


The bodies of the slain workers who belonged to Lower and Upper Waziristan, were shifted to a local hospital for post-mortem.


Another labourer was injured in the terrorist attack on the police station in a remote area of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s district. The wounded worker was also shifted to the hospital in Wana.


District Police Officer (DPO) Farmanullah said that teams were investigating the attack and they will soon be able to divulge more details about the incident. 


On October 31 last, four labourers and a cop were killed in an attack on a police station in the Naseerabad area of Balochistan's Turbat by unidentified assailants.


In the same month, at least six labourers were killed in their sleep and two were wounded after gunmen targeted them in an overnight attack in Turbat.


Earlier in August, 13 labourers were killed and two sustained injuries in an explosion in the Shawal area of North Waziristan district, near the border with Afghanistan. The van in which the labourers were travelling was completely destroyed by the blast.
