According to the latest data released by the Bureau of Statistics, exports in November 2023 were $2.057 billion, a decrease of 4 percent compared to October.
The export of textiles, however, increased by 8 percent to $1.30 billion in November. Imports in November decreased by 7 percent to $4.53 billion, with imports of petroleum products falling by 7 percent as well.
The trade deficit in November was $1.096 billion, a decrease of 10 percent compared to October. In the first five months of the current fiscal year, exports increased by 2 percent to 12.17 billion dollars, while imports decreased by 17 percent to $21.063 billion.
The trade deficit in the five-month period was $9.045 billion, a decrease of 33 percent compared to the same period of the last fiscal year, when it was $14.012 billion.
