An unusual incident occurred in a temple in Tamil Nadu, India, where a man accidentally dropped his iPhone into the temple’s donation box, 24NewsHD TV Channel reported on Sunday.
According to media reports, an Indian temple administration has refused to return the phone, stating that any item placed in the donation box becomes the temple’s property under temple regulations.
Officials explained that items placed in the donation box, whether intentionally or accidentally, cannot be returned to their original owner. They clarified that the iPhone is now considered a donation to the temple.
The authorities, however, offered the phone’s owner a chance to retrieve his data from the device but firmly stated that the phone itself would remain temple property.
The incident has sparked discussion across social media platforms, with many questioning the rigid application of the temple’s donation laws.
