On the directions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, a second consignment comprising five trucks loaded with relief goods left Lahore for Kurram, 24NewsHD TV Channel reported on Sunday.
On the occasion, Maryam Nawaz directed to shift a 60-year-old woman, namely Jamila, who is in serious condition in Kurram, to Islamabad via air ambulance.
The son of Jamila thanked chief minister Punjab for taking care of his ailing mother and for shifting her through an air ambulance.
Maryam Nawaz also prayed to Almighty Allah for early recovery of patients and for normalisation of the law and order situation in Kurram.
She said that due to a shortage of medicine and other essential commodities, people in Kurram are facing difficulties.
District Emergency Officer Kurram said that people were facing difficulties due to the non-availability of medicines in the region, and their lives were in danger.
Maryam Nawaz Sharif contacted the administration of Kurram on December 19, 2024, and was directed to provide relief goods to victims on a priority basis.
