As Lahore Qalandars staged a strong comeback by defeating Quetta Gladiators by 63 runs in the 10th match of the eighth edition of the Pakistan Super League Gladiators drew criticism from the analysts during the 24 News programme, PSL Hangama.
The Qalandars posted a towering 198 for six and then restricted Gladiatorsto 135 for eight.
Mohammad Yousuf observed Lahore Qalandars are doing wonders. When they are expected to play well, they don't play, he said adding that it was difficult to bat well but they did it.
He continued: “All the players performed matchlessly crushing the Gladiators.
Seconding Yousuf’s stance, former pacer Muhammad Asif said Qalandars’ batting side was not so good but they showed class.
The strike rate was too good, he said adding that the Gladiators’ bowling side appeared out of form and the team lacked captaincy.
He opined it was not right to use five bowlers in five overs and Sarfaraz should have come to bat early to chase such a target.
Anyways, he heaped praise on Shaheen's bowling that crushed the Gladiator. When the captain performs like this, the team gets a lot of confidence, the ex-pacer added.
With their batting clicking after a forgettable outing two nights ago, there was another silver lining for Lahore Qalandars as player-of-the-match Shaheen Afridi, who finished with three for 22, found the rhythm and bowled sizzling yorkers in his opening spell.
