Afzal Cheema, a prominent leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) from Gujranwala has alleged that tickets for the provincial assembly elections within the party were being sold, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.

Cheema, who was a former PTI candidate from PP-62 in Gujranwala, pointed fingers at the district general secretary, Ali Raza Shahnawaz Butter, accusing him of demanding a staggering Rs 5 million as a party donation in exchange for a PTI ticket.

According to Cheema, when he refused to comply with this demand, the PTI ticket for PP-62 was allegedly transferred to another candidate, Rizwan Sayan, who reportedly made a substantial donation to secure the nomination.

This revelation has raised serious concerns about the transparency and fairness of the PTI ticket distribution process, casting a shadow over the party's internal practices.

The accused district general secretary, Ali Raza Shahnawaz Buttar, is now under scrutiny for his alleged involvement in this malpractice.

Cheema went on to suggest that a prominent figure within PTI in Lahore was also linked with Ali Raza Shahnawaz Buttar in the ticket sales process, hinting at a broader network involved in these activities.

Moreover, Cheema emphasized his role as a regular donor to Namal University Mianwali.

“I am a regular donor of Namal University Mianwali and PTI founder Imran Khan’s sister Aleema Khan knows who conducts the charity programs of the university, he hinted.
