A Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Corporate Crime Circle team on Wednesday raided a jewellery shop located in Kharadar Gold Market in Karachi and impounded foreign currency worth millions of rupees and arrested one person, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to details, Director FIA Karachi Zone received credible information about illegal trade of foreign currency.
He immediately constituted a FIA team who recovered USD13,000, AED 7000, Saudi Riyals 6,000, Canadian dollar 1,000, and Pakistani currency over Rs10 million a mobile phone and record of foreign currency from the possession of a arrested person who was later identified as Bilal Ahmed.
During initial investigation, the accused failed to satisfy the FIA team while raids were being conducted to arrest the remaining culprits.
Further investigation was underway.
