The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released the latest Test player rankings, with Pakistan's Saud Shakeel making it to the top 10 batters for the first time, 24NewsHD TV Channel reported on Wednesday.
According to the channel report, in the Test batting rankings, England’s Joe Root retained his position as the number one batter. Saud Shakeel climbed three spots to secure the 8th position.
However, Pakistan’s skipper Babar Azam faced a setback, dropping four places to rank 16th. Meanwhile, Mohammad Rizwan improved by two spots, reaching the 18th position.
On the bowling front, Pakistan’s Nauman Ali returned to the top 10, climbing two spots to 9th position. Sajid Khan showed significant progress, jumping 18 places to rank 23rd, while Abrar Ahmed advanced six spots and now stands at 52nd.
As per the ICC's new ranking, in the all-rounders' category, India’s Ravindra Jadeja retained the top position.
