Five of the 16 people who sustained burn injuries after an electricity transformer exploded with a big bang in Hyderabad city have died, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Three people died earlier while the two more succumbed to their injuries on Friday morning.
On Thursday, at least 16 people sustained burns five of them seriously in the transformer blast in the Hyderabad area of Latifabad No 8. Three of them died later.
Two Hesco officials were among the injured, rescuers said, adding that 13 wounded were referred to Karachi Civil Hospital.
Hesco head Rehan Hameed sprang into action and suspended SDO, line superintendent and two of the linemen over the tragedy that took place in Latifabad.
Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah took notice of the incident and sought a report about the incident.
He issued directives to officials concerned to ensure all-out support to the victims. He ordered providing the injured with best medical facilities.
Last month, six children were injured in a similar blast in Islamabad Mohalla of Hesco limits.
