The report submitted to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif by his inspection team on Friday revealed that 10 international airlines charged extra fares from those travelling in the business class, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
The report disclosed that Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, Ittehad, Saudi, Sri Lankan, Thai, Gulf and FlyDubai airlines received Rs50,000 extra charges from the passengers before July 1, 2022 in complete violation of the government’s decision, announced in the national budget for the next financial year 2022-23, to collect the extra amount after the above-mentioned date.
It was further disclosed that despite the fact that the airlines were told to return the extra money they had charged from the passengers, not a single of them complied with the directives.
