The dispute over the seizure of Almaha ship carrying cargo of 1800 metric tons of LPG at Karachi Port has taken a turn for the worst as the Sindh High Court also ordered the authorities not to discharge the vessel, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
The court has also sought a response from the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency over the issue of the LPG ship.
LPG Association of Pakistan Chairman Irfan Khokhar appeared in court on behalf of Moonline Company, which brought the consignment to Karachi while UPDC chartered the ship.
Irfan Khokhar also submitted a miscellaneous application on behalf of Moonline company in the court.
There have been differences between the partners of UPDC, Mazhar Imtiaz Lawri Advocate told the court. He said they wanted the ship to be sent back from Pakistan. However, UPDC got the ship seized, Mazhar Imtiaz told the court. He further said that it was found that the financial transactions were done on the basis of fake bills.
What do you want if the ship is seized? Justice Jawad Akbar Sarwana asked. “We want the ship to be seized as well as not to be discharged,” said Mazhar Imtiaz.
Notices were issued to Pakistan Maritime Agency.
