Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has decided to file a reference against the Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja and four other members of the Election Commission on Monday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Thursday.
Barrister Ali Zafar will be representing PTI in this matter. The founder of PTI has entrusted Barrister Ali Zafar with the responsibility of filing the reference, which will be submitted to the Supreme Judicial Council.
The reference demands the removal of the Chief Election Commissioner and the four members, citing several grievances.
The reference will argue that PTI has been unfairly blamed and has not been given a level playing field.
It will also highlight the delay in holding general elections and changes in the Election Tribunal of Islamabad. Additionally, the reference will address the misinterpretation of Supreme Court decisions and will include specific points from judgments related to particular seats.
