Oil Tankers Contractors Association announces strike on June 24

The Oil Tankers Contractors Association Tuesday announced to suspend the supply of petroleum products across the country from June 24 to pressurise the government to accept their demands, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The association has announced a strike and demanded road share in the ‘White Oil Pipeline Project’ as the association has invested billions of rupees in modern oil tankers preparation.

President of Oil Tankers Contractors Association Abid Ullah Afridi said Ogra has not stopped commercial and illegal loading despite a ban on it.

“From June 24 onwards petroleum products supply would remain suspended across the country,” he added. Sohaib Ashraf, General Secretary, Oil Tankers Association said that Secretary Petroleum in a meeting on June 18, 2020 had assured the association to resolve these demands.

It may be mentioned here that White Oil Pipeline is the mega infrastructure project owned by Pak Arab Pipeline Company Limited (PAPCO).
