Naila Kiani reaches home after scaling Mount Everest

Pakistan’s leading female Pakistani high-altitude mountaineer Naila Kiani has reached home from Nepal after scaling the Mount Everest, the world’s highest mountain, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.

Naila will head to the country’s northern areas today as she plans to scale yet another mountain namely Nanga Parbat.

Talking to media, the mountaineer has said that she developed liking for the sport two years ago. “And now I have reached the peaks of all high mountains in the world,” she said, and added, “Women, too, should join the sport. It is difficult, but not impossible.”

Naila Kiani is the first and only Pakistani woman mountaineer to climb six peaks above 8,000 meters.

She climbed six 8, 000 meters only within two years of starting her mountaineering career.

A mother of two girls, she graduated in Aerospace Engineering from the University of London and worked in Engineering and Banking industry. She competed as an amateur boxer as well.

In May 2023, Naila became the second Pakistani woman to climb the 8,848-metre-high Mount Everest. Naila was the first international climber to reach the summit of Everest in 2023.
