Police in Gujrat have failed to rein in kite flyers as a 17-year-old youth was killed when his throat was slit open by a kite string on Wednesday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to reports, the youth was returning home after dropping his sister to college when the incident occurred.
Police said that deceased Muaz was the resident of Baghdad Colony.
Later, a case was registered under murder-related sections on the complaint of victim’s father Zulfiqar Aslam.
Punjab CM takes notice
Meanwhile, condoling the death of the youth with his family, Punjab Chief Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi has directed the inspector general of police (IGP), Punjab to submit to him a report.
Regretting that there was no end to kite flying in the city and its suburbs despite ban, the chief minister ordered indiscriminate crackdown on those violating the law.
