Balcohsitan’s provincial government has announced a 25 percent increase in the salaries of the government’s employees from grade 1 to grade 16, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Balochistan’s Provincial Finance Minister Mir Shoaib Nausherwani unveiled a 15 percent increase in the pension of retired employees.
Balochistan government has announced a 22 percent increase in salaries for the officers above grade 17 to grade 22.
Earlier, the federal government had approved 25 percent increase in salaries in the budget 2024-25. The minimum wage has also been raised to Rs37,000. The salaries of govt employees from grades 1-16 have been raised by 25% while salaries for grades 17-22 were raised by 20 percent. In addition, the pensions of government employees were raised by 15 percent.
The Punjab government had announced an increase of 25 percent in salaries of government employees. The announcement was made by Punjab Finance Minister Mujtaba Shujaur Rehman while unveiling budgetary proposals for the next fiscal year. The Punjab government has proposed the same increase in salaries as the federal government i.e. an increase of 25 percent for Grade 1-16 employees while Grade 17-22 employees will get a 20 percent increase in salaries.
Sindh government had proposed 30 percent increase in salaries of the government employees in the provincial budget for Fiscal Year 2024-25.
Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah while presenting the provincial budget during the assembly session had said that Sindh government increased the salary of Grade 1 to 6 employees by 30%. For Grade 7 to 16 employees, the provincial government increased salary by 25% in line with other provinces and the PPP-ruled province increased the salary by 22% for Grade 17 to onwards employees. Sindh CM Murad announced a 15% increase in pensions. Earlier, Advisor to KP Chief Minister, Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif, announced that the provincial government was prepared to increase its employees’ salaries by 25 percent, as proposed in the federal budget.
“We are ready to increase our employees’ salaries by 25 percent without hesitation,” he stated while speaking to reporters.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government had previously increased employees’ salaries by 10 percent in the budget.
