Amid protests against prolonged power outages in various areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, official documents reveal that Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) itself was responsible for 14-12-hours loadshedding instead of Centre, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to the document, PESCO was using electricity less than its quota and various faults in its transmission system were causing load shedding in the province.
The electricity demand in the PESCO region stood at 1,487 megawatts while according to the quota, Peshawar Electric Supply Company was receiving 1,707 megawatts from the national grid system.
PESCO was consuming 1,431MW power which was 276MW less than its quota. According to a report, PESCO’s 11,000 KV transmission line was facing faults in its system while there were also administrative and technical losses in the region.
