Special Assistant to Prime Minister on National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination Dr Zafar Mirza says a group of health experts have been given the task to issue advisory on the use of Chloroquine for coronavirus treatment.
Talking to media in Islamabad on Sunday, he said details for the use of Chloroquine medicine will be available to our health departments after being discussed at national level.
Dr Zafar Mirza said sufficient stock of Chloroquine is available in the country and there is complete ban on its export. He said we are planning to arrange a crash course for the training of doctors for treatment of the pandemic Coronavirus. He said total number of confirmed Coronavirus patients in Pakistan is 646. Special Assistant on Health appealed to the public to adopt preventive measures in collective war against the pandemic. Zafar Mirza said a programme aimed at imparting necessary training to doctors on handling coronavirus patients will be initiated in a few days.
There are a total of 5,650 suspected cases of COVID-19 across the country with 646 coronavirus positive, he said, adding as many as 112 patients tested positive for the disease in the last 24 hours with Sindh reporting the highest number of 292 cases so far.
