Court summons Punjab interior secretary in alimony case on March 26

A family court in Lahore on Friday summoned Punjab Secretary Interior Noorul Ameen Mengal on March 26 on the application filed by his second wife and ailing daughter for the payment of alimony, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Judge Shazia Kausar heard the application filed by Ambreen Sardar and four-year-old autism patient Aleeha Noorul Ameen.
Mian Daud Advocate, who appeared in the court on behalf of the plaintiffs, said that Mengal had contracted a second marriage with Ambreen in 2018. “And in November 2019, they were blessed with a baby girl Aleeha,” he said, adding, “However, after a few months, Mengal kicked both wife and daughter out of the house. He even stopped paying alimony to them.”
And it was after Ambreen would beseech for the money that he would give them the amount, and that, too, after several months, the lawyer informed.
Speaking on the occasion, Ambreen said that her husband got his bank account opened and later handed her over the ATM.
She further said that when Aleeha grew up, she fell prey to autism for which treatment was underway. “The monthly expenditures incurred on the treatment as well as school fee of the girl have now exceeded Rs0.3 million,” she informed.
She went on to say that Mengal had still to pay her the money spent on the purchase of medicines at the time of the girl’s birth. “Therefore, I pray to the court to order my husband to fix my daughter’s alimony at Rs300,000 and also clear the arrears.”
Ambreen also sought the court order to Mengal to pay her the alimony starting from 2019.
