The PTI core committee at a meeting mulled over Pakistan Day celebrations, the issue of the closure of the party office in Lahore, the cypher issue and the resignation of Hamad Azhar.

The committee members viewed that Hammad Azhar's resignation should not be accepted as, according to the sources the party founder issued directives to woo Hamad back.

The insiders said the core committee expressed its concern over the losing bat symbol and closure of its Lahore office and laid stress on stepped-up efforts to bring the party electoral symbol back and going for a legal battle to reopen the party office.

The committee, the sources said, issued directives to hold special events to mark Pakistan Day across the country.

In the wake of US Assistant Secretary of State Donald Lu's statement, the PTI core committee raised the demand for Asad Majeed's statement.

Since Donald Lu denied US involvement in ex-prime minister Imran Khan’s ouster from office, the PTI demanded former ambassador Asad Majeed record his statement in response to the US diplomat’s ‘lie’ before a US Congressional panel.
