As Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry played down the differences with the pro-Jehangir Khan Tareen group admitting that their point of view holds weight, the group leaders on the other hand have demanded a guarantee for the approval of their demands saying they may part ways if inquiry report implicates Jengir Tareen, reported 24 NewsHD Tv channel.

The JKT group members have asked Information Minister Chaudhry and MNA Amir Kiyani to provide assurance that their demands would be met.

The pro-Tareen group said they were standing with Prime Minister Imran Khan but if Tareen would be implicated in the report that they would part their ways with the government.

Chaudhry also said both the PTI government and the JKT group were anxiously awaiting Senator Ali Zafar’s fact-finding report that would ascertain the truth whether estranged PTI leader Jehangir is getting fair and impartial treatment from Federal Investigation Agency in the criminal cases against him.

The information minister was talking to the media along with members of the pro-Tareen group in Lahore on Saturday.

Chaudhry said that their party had listened to the JKT group’s point of view, adding that we were on the same page on so many things.

He was of the view that there was a need to improve coordination between the two sides. He said PTI needed to get benefit from the political acumen of ace politicians like Nauman Langrial and others. He said his party had already adopted a very clear stance on the Tareen affair.

He said they were all united under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

He derided the opposition for anticipating a wedge within the PTI party ranks. He hoped that the ecstatic state of the opposition should have come to an end after these meetings.

Chaudhry said the government wanted to make Ali Zafar’s report public.

He denied any wrongdoing in the Rawalpindi Ring Road alignment plan saying the government saved money in this scheme rather than wasting it. He boasted that accountability happened only in the PTI tenure.

Earlier, the federal minister participated in the luncheon hosted by the pro-Tareen group at provincial minister Nauman Langrial’s house. They exchanged views on JKT group lawmakers’ reservations.
