A class-X girl student was abducted by armed men in Shadbagh area of Lahore, prompting Lahore High Court chief justice to take notice of the incident, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
The CCTV footage that was made available to 24NewsHD TV channel reveals that the girl, identified as Ayesha, was on her way home with her brother on a motorbike.
In the meantime, the accused came from the rear in a car. They bundled Ayesha into the car after holding her brother hostage at gunpoint and sped away.
They also tortured the girl’s brother over resistance.
Police said that Ayesha, 17, was going home after taking exams.
Police registered a case but the accused could not be arrested.
Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz took notice of the abduction of the girl student from Shadbagh area.
The chief minister sought report form the capital city police officer (CCPO) and ordered him to ensure safe recovery of the student as soon as possible.
“The accused involved in the abduction of the student should be brought to book immediately,” the chief minister ordered.
“The investigation should be carried out in a scientific manner,” he added.
LHC CJ orders police to recover girl by 6pm today
Lahore High Court (LHC) Chief Justice Muhammad Ameer Bhatti took notice of the abduction of the girl student and ordered the Punjab inspector general of police to ensure her early recovery.
“Recover the girl by 6pm and submit a report to the court,” ordered the LHC chief justice.
It is learnt that Isha was abducted by her ex-fiancée and his accomplices.
Police have arrested 10 suspected persons and launched investigation.
However, no one among those who abducted the girl could be apprehended by the police.
“All the accused are on the run after locking their houses,” police said, adding that police teams comprising investigation officers had been formed for the recovery of the girl.
