Good news for the people of Lahore as the weather department has forecast rains for the city as well as other parts of Punjab from tomorrow (Tuesday, May 23, 2023) for four days, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.
The department has predicted that westerly winds will enter the province tonight which will bring down temperatures considerably.
It was quite hot in the city in the morning as the temperature shot up to 34 degrees Celsius.
The Met Office said that temperature would go up to 44 degrees Celsius later in the afternoon.
Lahore was again ranked the most polluted city of the world as the air quality index (AQI) was recorded at 194.
The AQI over the US consulate was recorded at 251, 215 over The Mall, and 193 over DHA Phase-8.
No relief from heat in sight for Karachi:
On the other hand, heat persists in Karachi as temperature was recorded at 31 degrees Celsius in the morning.
The Met Office has predicted the temperature to go up to 36 degrees Celsius later in the day.
And to make matters worse, weathermen have forecast no relief for the residents of the port city during the next 48 hours as they have said that hot and humid weather will continue.
The humidity level in the air stood at 58 per cent while winds were blowing from south-westerly direction at the speed of 17 nautical miles.
The weather is expected to remain excessively hot in upper and central parts of Sindh where temperatures will skyrocket to 45 degrees Celsius.
