470 more students stranded in Bishkek arrive in Peshawar and Multan on two flights

An additional 470 students who were stranded in Kyrgyzstan arrived in Peshawar and Multan on two different flights, reported 24News HD TV channel on Wednesday.
According to the channel, a total of 1347 students have reached Pakistan on six flights so far.


On Wednesday, the speical flight carrying the students from Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan landed at Bacha Khan International Airport at 2:00 am.
Brother of the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal Amin Gandapur MNA and provincial ministers welcomed the students at the airport.
A large number of parents were also present at the airport to reunite with their loved ones arriving from Bishkek.
Following special instructions from KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, students from different areas arriving on the special flight have been accommodated at the Chief Minister's House in Peshawar.
Special arrangements have been made for their lodging and meals while these students will be transported to their respective hometowns in special vehicles tomorrow with travel expenses covered by the provincial government.
Another special flight will depart today to bring back more Pakistanis stranded in Kyrgyzstan. Additional listings of stranded Pakistani students in Kyrgyzstan are being compiled through a Google Form.
The PDMA spokesperson stated that for information and guidance, Pakistani students stranded in Kyrgyzstan can contact via WhatsApp at the numbers (03433333049) and (03440955550) while parents of the students can reach out to the PDMA helpline at 1700.


The second flight reached Multan at 3:44am on Wednesday. 170 Pakistani students who were stranded in Bishkek were on board the flight 4587 of Aero Nomad.
Officials of the Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF) and the Multan Airport welcomed the returning students and provided refreshments and tranport to the students.


Yesterday, more 347 students reached Islamabad from Bishkek on two flights. 
According to the 24News HD TV channel, more 180 Pakistani students arrived through flight ANK 4575. This flight was landed at Islamabad International Airport at 5:26 in the morning.
The first flight PK 6252 of the national airline PIA also reached Islamabad International Airport at 7:56 with 167 Pakistani students.
On Monday last, a special plane, carrying 170 Pakistani students, reached Lahore from Bishkek. Federal Minister for Information Ataullah Tarar welcomed the students at the Allama Iqbal International Airport. He said, “We will not leave our students at the mercy of rioters.”
The minister said that the government would try to send these students back to Kyrgyzstan once the situation returned to normalcy in the country. The minister went on to say that these students would make their parents and countrymen feel proud after getting degrees in their fields. “Thanks to the Almighty Allah that no unpleasant incident happened to Pakistani students,” he said.
On Sunday last, two flights from Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan arrived in Pakistan, reuniting 360 students with their eagerly awaiting families.
Flight KA 4575 landed at Islamabad Airport, while Flight KA 6571, operated by Aero Nomad Airlines, touched down at Lahore Airport, each carrying 180 students. The arrivals were met with emotional scenes as parents and relatives gathered at both airports to welcome their loved ones back home.
Minister Tarar welcomed the students at the airport and assured that the situation in Kyrgyzstan was stable, with only six to seven students sustained injuries. The minister announced that special flights from Kyrgyzstan, supported by the government are underway to bring students back home.
Contrasting the government's statement, students at the airport voiced their concerns, claiming a lack of assistance from the Pakistani embassy in Bishkek amidst worsening conditions.
Foreign students studying in the Kyrgyz capital, Bishkek including those from Pakistan, were attacked by locals in the aftermath of their brawl with Egyptian students on May 13.
Several were injured while a few lost their lives in the scuffle. The situation made the Pakistani students panic and they have decided to leave Kyrgyzstan immediately.
