A catering van caught fire at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport on Tuesday but quick action by relevant staff prevented it from causing any damage, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The vehicle was bringing food for passengers of PK-304 flight when the fire suddenly erupted in it.
According to a PIA spokesman, the alert staff at the airport quickly moved the van away from the plane.
No damage was reported from the incident, the PIA spokesman said, adding the aircraft, passengers and other assets remained safe.
The spokesman further said that the PIA’s safety system was fully operative at the airport.
