Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who is not satisfied with the findings of the Faizabad sit-in commission report, on Tuesday announced that he would form a special cabinet committee, which will make recommendations to him on the subject, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Sources told 24News that in the opinion of the prime minister, there were flaws in the report, and it was not in line with the terms of reference (TORs) either.
The report has already been submitted to the Supreme Court (SC), and Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Qazi Faez Isa, too, has termed it unsatisfactory.
Two weeks ago, Justice Isa had expressed his dissatisfaction with the report submitted by the commission formed to investigate the Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan’s (TLP) 2017 Faizabad sit-in, saying that the commission was not even aware of its responsibility.
The CJP’s remarks came as a three-member bench of the SC took up a set of review petitions filed against its 2019 judgement in the Faizabad sit-in case.
