Younus Khan, the former captain of Pakistan's cricket team Tuesday expressed his optimism regarding the team's prospects in the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

In an exclusive talk with 24NewsHD, Khan highlighted the team's potential to make it to the finals, emphasizing the need for mental preparedness among key players to adapt to varying match situations.

Khan also called for the resumption of the Pakistan-India cricket series, stating that regular matches could help mitigate the intense pressure associated with these high-profile games.

He particularly noted the anticipation surrounding the upcoming India-Pakistan match in America, acknowledging that both teams have historically had equal opportunities to clinch victory in such electrifying encounters.

Discussing the T20 format, Khan remarked on its challenging nature, suggesting that flexibility in player numbers is key to adapting to the game's demands.

Further discussing team strategy, Khan urged captain Babar Azam to lead by example and strategize effectively for himself and the team to enhance their chances of success in the World Cup.

He expressed his hope that Azam would emerge as the player of the series and lead Pakistan to victory.

On the topic of batting technique, Khan advised that the responsibility of scoring quickly should not fall on a single player but should be a collective effort, with each batsman contributing according to the game's needs.

He stressed that it's not just one player's responsibility to play aggressively; all players must score runs according to the situation.

He added that if the batsmen can maintain an average of 10 runs per over in the middle overs, a score of 200 runs could provide Pakistan with a strong chance of success.
