PTI candidate Syed Sohail Abbas Shah won the election in Gilgit Baltistan's GBA-3 constituency on Sunday.
PTI candidate got 6873 votes while independent candidate Dr Muhammad Iqbal secured 4678 votes.
With this win, PTI secured 17 out of 24 seats in Gilgit Baltistan Assembly. The election in GBA-3 was postponed after the death of PTI candidate Jaffar Shah, who was also party president.
Earlier, in the day polling was held peacefully amid tight security measures. GBA-3 (Gilgit-III) is a constituency of Gilgit Baltistan Assembly which has 34,103 votes. According to the unofficial results of 23 constituencies of GB Assembly, the PTI bagged 10 seats and seven independent candidates won the election. Later, six of them joined the PTI couple of days ago. PPP won three seats, PML-N two and MWM secured one seat.
