Earlier, Bangladesh won the toss once again and decided to bat first yet again against Pakistan in third and final T20 match being played at Dhaka National Stadium.
Bangladeshi captain had won the toss in the first two matches also, decided to bat first and lost both the games to the visitors also. Adopting the same plan, the skipper yet again decided to put his batters to test first in the last and final T20 against Pakistan.
Though Pakistan had already won the series by winning the first two matches against the hosts, Bangladesh wanted to break the jinx of being ‘unsuccessful’ in the last seven matches including five from the ICC Men’s World Cup in UAE.
While, Babar-XI wanted to continue the momentum of winning performances in T20 matches on Bangladesh pitches.
PCB Chairman Ramiz Raja commented, “Pak vs Ban was a tough pitch to chase, and Pak’s batting got tested today. A lot easier to see off tough moments when you have wins behind you. Confidence is a great friend to have but it befriends you only if you are winning.”

Bangladesh captain Mahmudullah blamed his batsmen for not putting up a challenging score. He said, "I think a team like us need a set batter until the 15th over, we didn't do that. The boys are putting in a lot of effort at training, taking catches, doing all the things right but are missing chances," he said. "I think in the last five-six months, our bowling unit has been outstanding, both pace and spin department. It's the batting unit that has to deliver."
