Commerce and Industry Minister Gohar Ejaz met with the representatives of the Khyber Chamber of Commerce Tuesday to discuss various issues related to the trade and industry sector, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The meeting focused on the revival of the gems and jewellery sector, which has been affected by the security situation and the pandemic.
The minister assured the delegation that the government is committed to facilitating the legal trade of precious stones and metals with all countries, especially Afghanistan.
He also said that the Afghan transit trade is a vital component of the bilateral relations and the regional stability.
The minister urged the business community to adopt a clear strategy for the improvement of the country's economy and to play its role in boosting the private sector. He also emphasized the importance of paying taxes and contributing to the national development.
