A ship laden with an unprecedented 11,000 metric tons of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) berthed at Qasim International Terminal on Tuesday, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.
The arrival of the largest LNG cargo ship at the Port Qasim Terminal for the first time in Pakistan ‘s history is also a historic moment for the nation's energy landscape.
This landmark achievement is attributed to the efforts of SSGC LPG Private Limited, a leading player in the energy sector, which successfully facilitated the import of the massive LNG cargo ship from the city of Basra in Iraq.
The vessel made an impressive berthing at the Port Qasim Terminal in Karachi, signaling a significant leap forward in Pakistan's capacity to handle LNG imports.
In response to this achievement, SSGC LPG authorities announced plans to bring in an additional 8 to 10 cargo ships after the solution of the letter of credit’s problems, further alleviating the challenges associated with LNG import sizes.
