Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has said that Pakistan has started its growth plan therefore people will no longer pay heed to anti-state activities like sit-ins and long march, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Addressing inauguration ceremony of the Kachhi Canal Rehabilitation Project said, CM Maryam said Kachhi Canal Rehabilitation project was completed in a record period of 45 days owing to Shahbaz Speed. She congratulated all the stakeholders on this achievement. CM Maryam said Kachhi Canal is not a mere canal going from Punjab to Balochistan but a path of development and prosperity.
The land of Balochistan will be irrigated with the water of Kachhi Canal and people will become prosperous. She said Kachhi Canal Project was completed in 2017 during the tenure of PM Nawaz Sharif.
She added that Kachhi Canal rehabilitation work has been completed during the tenure of his brother Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif today. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is taking forward Nawaz Sharif's vision of bringing the four provinces closer.
She said PM Shehbaz Sharif is fulfilling Nawaz Sharif's dream to provide prosperity to the people of Pakistan.
She said Kachhi Canal not only connects Punjab and Balochistan but also unites hearts of the people of the two provinces. During the previous government’s four years tenure, their incompetence and criminal negligence led to rise of price of two-rupee bread up to Rs. 25 to Rs. 30. During the PML-N tenure, a bread worth Rs 30 is now available at Rs. 12 again.
She said foreign exchange reserves always increase during the PML-N tenure of government. PM Shahbaz Sharif is also striving with dedication day and night to reduce electricity prices. Whenever there is development in the country and mega projects are launched, motorways are built in the country, laptops are distributed, modern transport like metro buses and orange line are functioning in the country, it only happens during the tenure of PML-N.
She added, “In 73 years, Pakistanis have not seen such a time when one provincial government attacked another province and the federation. Today, the KPK government is waging a war on Punjab and the federation. All this is happening at a time when Pakistan is developing and rising. Attacks are being launched on the Punjab Police personnel and stones are being pelted at the Punjab Police. ordered have been issued to the Punjab police as not to shoot at people coming from KPK. These are also our own people. When one province attacks another province, then how come foreign investors will invest in Pakistan?”
She said, “Earlier they used to say that America toppled their government, now they are waving American flags in their rallies. I want to tell you that no one overthrew their government and now Parliament of Pakistan expelled them. You are the first Prime Minister in the history of Pakistan who was removed from office constitutionally. All the Prime Ministers of Pakistan before you were expelled unconstitutionally. When the Parliament expelled you, you started attacking the country and carried out a heinous attack like May 9. It is the right of a political party to hold rallies.”
She added, “No permission will be granted to halt the journey of economic development in the guise of holding rallies and protests. No vandalism and arson activities will be allowed as well. If they do not desist from indulging into vandalism and anti-state practices then the Prime Minister of Pakistan and all other stakeholders know very well how to defend our dear homeland. In the light of Nawaz Sharif's vision and under the leadership of PM Shahbaz Sharif, Pakistan will continue to achieve progress and prosperity.” Meanwhile, CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif has directed concerned authorities to speed up the completion of ‘Apni Chhat Apna Ghar Programme’.
While chairing a special meeting to review progress of ‘Apni Chhat Apna Ghar Programme’, she said,”Apni Chhat Apna Ghar is a dream of every common man, we will definitely materialise it.”
CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif was apprised that data of 50,000 applicants was transferred to Akhuwat for verification. Verification of 38,000 applicants has been completed, while 20,900 applicants have submitted the required documents, out of which 8,424 applicants have successfully completed the required papers.
