During the interview with the host, the actor said: “These songs have been a part of our culture since forever and saying otherwise is not correct.”
The host further added:
“Many people say that item songs are not a part of our culture but item songs used to be in old Urdu and Punjabi movies. Madam Noor Jehan has sung many such songs which were picturized in films.”
Yasir also added that many of ‘our films now have item songs, so these songs have been a part of films since Pakistan came into being or even before that. He also suggested that many old stars could have done them in films.’
In the end, he shared his opinion about bans on different shows in Pakistan. He said:
“No show or theatre play should be banned.
People should be given the choice to choose what they want to watch.”
