In a shocking incident in Lahore’s Chung area, a 7-year-old boy was shot dead by a security guard after attempting to drink water during a cricket game, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Monday.
The tragic event unfolded in the Current Scheme, where the child, exhausted from playing, went to quench his thirst, only to be fatally shot by the guard.
The accused, identified as Kabir, a resident of Shergarh in Okara district, fled the scene immediately after the murder. However, swift police action led to his arrest within a few hours. Using modern technology, police tracked Kabir to a bus stand while he was attempting to escape to Okara. The murder weapon was also recovered.
Chung police have registered a case, and an investigation is underway. SHO Chung stated, "The killer of innocent children deserves no leniency, and strict action will be taken against him."
The incident has sent shockwaves through the community, raising concerns over the safety of public spaces.
